In an effort to thank the first responders working to keep the North Shore community safe and healthy, our team purchased and delivered plate lunches from three local restaurants to police officers, firefighters, first responders and healthcare workers in Kahuku and Hau‘ula yesterday.
“We would like to extend a heartfelt mahalo to our first responders, who are working day in and day out to keep our community healthy amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Verla Moore, community liaison for AES Nā Pua Makani. “We are happy that by donating these plate lunches we could also play a small role in keeping our local restaurants cooking.”
The plate lunches of roast pork, kalbi, shrimp or BBQ chicken were cooked with aloha by several North Shore restaurants.
While picking up and delivering the meals, our team followed all health guidelines from state and local officials including wearing a mask or face covering and practicing social distancing.
